WOH Sikorsky S16 Ser (Ukranian and Bolshevik versions) - The S16 was a rugged aircraft with light controls. It had a particularly
sturdy undercarriage,
designed to withstand the impact of landing on the hard surfaces of the frozen
Siberian airfields. This robustness lent itself to adaptation, leading to
variants that
sported skis and yet more with floats. It was constantly modified from batch to
batch
and survived the Revolution. Some S16’s were operational with the Red Air Force
after
Civil War.
